SCOTT HOOPER’S BIO – Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, I’ve been playing hockey since the age of 5. I have played goalie most of my life, including for my high school team and one year of Division 3 college hockey at Kettering University. I moved to Chicago in 2010 and have bounced between living in Wicker Park, Bucktown and Ukrainian Village. I still play hockey twice a week and look forward to helping the youth in our area learn to ice skate.

AMYSUE MERTEN’S BIO A fifth generation Chicagoan, I put on hockey skates for the first time nine years ago. I am mainly a right winger, but also play left wing and center- currently for one outdoor and three indoor recreational teams. A handful of years ago I helped to start a youth hockey program in Chicago focused on breaking the sport’s traditional barriers to entry. I am excited about helping WickerIce’s young people find enjoyment learning how to play the greatest sport on Earth.
