Each week volunteers learn how to plant and tend all the plants in the park's 10,000 sq. feet of gardens. In addition, they learn the basic design concepts that we have employed in creating our award winning gardens. Many volunteers have worked with us to create exciting gardens at their homes from the concepts and tutoring we provided them while they tended the park's gardens. The gardens are a registered Chicago Park District Community Gardens in the Parks.

This year we are enhancing the shade sections of the gardens with new plants obtained from the Community Gardens in the Park's 2016 grant administered by the Park's Foundation.

BRING - Pruners, Trowels, Gloves, Knee Pads, and wear clothes that you can get dirty.
