Learn more about the Chicago Park District's more than 7300 acres of parkland, 552 parks, 33 beaches, nine museums, two world-class conservatories, 16 historic lagoons, 10 bird and wildlife gardens, thousands of special events, sports and entertaining programs.
Kick off the holiday season with community comradery and even some long-standing decorating competition! Join us and help decorate Wicker Park’s historic Gurgoyle Fountain. We will begin by cutting up 30 trees to make greens for the urns, collect ornamental grasses and dried flowers from the park’s 10,000 sq. feet of gardens, then decorate the 12 urns and install lights and garland on the fountain.

Boo-Palooza 2014 will feature nearly 60 organizations working together to present a memorable event for all ages in Wicker Park. Some of the numerous activities include costume parades with prizes for children, families, adults and dogs, games for all ages and dogs, exciting performances, a pumpkin patch and pumpkin decorating, dancing, a maze, midway of games, hooping, old fashioned activities like find the needle in the straw stack and Bobbing for Apples, Ghost Bingo, activity tables presented by community organizations and businesses from all over Chicagoland and more. The event is designed and presented by Wicker Park Advisory Council, Wicker Park Garden Club, Mosaic Church, Urban Encounter, 250 volunteers, and 58 organizations working in collaboration with the Chicago Park District.

Learnapalooza combines educational and hands on experience in numerous disciplines all in one day. It is the perfect event to realize the WPAC goal of expanded educational opportunities for our park’s patrons.In 2012 and 2013 Learnapalooza was held in Wicker Park Field House and in many other venues in the Wicker Park Bucktown neighborhood. It was a great success each year.

Wicker Mic is an outdoor open mic located in the heart one of Chicago's leading artistic communities -- Wicker Park. We create a platform for local artists to display their talents, and provide the community with quality outdoor entertainment on beautiful summer evenings in the park.
