The Wicker Park Advisory Council & Garden Club in partnership with the Chicago Park District will present The 1099 String Quartet, a cutting edge professional string quartet led by Ryan Loeckel.

The quartet will present thematic programs and perform outside in the park. To enhance thematic content of each performance additional instruments will be added to the quartet at some of the performances.

Come at 10am and take a tour of the Park and Gardens before the performance.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy or pick up some food at the WPB Farmers Market (8am-2pm Each Week).


About Ryan Loeckel

Ryan Loeckel is an active musician, vocalist and arts administrator in the Chicagoland area. Trained as a classical violinist and violist at the Ohio State University, he is a descendant of the Max Aronoff line of violists through studies with Marcia Ferritto. He has played in Principal positions under conductors and composers such as John Corigliano, Alessandro Siciliani, Louis Lane, Michael Tilson Thomas and Krzyszt of Penderecki, in addition to sharing the stage with various recording artists including Josh Groban, Idina Menzel and Barry Manilow amongst others. Ryan's playing, singing, and arrangements have been heard on syndicated National Public Radio broadcasts, aboard five-star Holland America Line ships and in hundreds of performances at professional Equity theaters. Ryan is Executive Director of the Danville Symphony Orchestra in Danville, IL.
