The Wicker Park Advisory Council has launched a Capital Campaign to build a new WICKER BARK PARK! Our dogs deserve a better play space. We have a plan; now let’s execute it!
Wicker Park Dog Park is on Chicago Park District land and is one of the first “dog friendly areas” in the city! The space is in need of updating – this project is 100% volunteer driven and self funded – so we need your help!

Design Improvements
- Expansion: 25% more play space!
- New ground material: Smoother concrete and artificial turf run.
- Improved fencing: New fencing to keep our dogs safe (up to current DFA standards).
- Shade element*: A shade structure for both humans & our dogs.
- Splash basin*: Splash pool/pad.
- Drinking fountain*: New modern fountain (for both dogs & humans).
The new park design** includes a recessed gravel area, agility features ie – boulder stacks, mulched/landscaped areas, an artificial turf play/run, shade structure, splash basin and new drinking fountain for both dogs & their owners.
*construction of these “add-on” elements based on funding.
**final design at time of construction based on final approval of CPD.

VOTE
Vote for the 1st Ward Participatory Budget. The project could receive up to $175,00 for the dog park rebuild! Help spread the word to fellow Ward 1 voters. This voting period ends February 4, 2024.
