ABOUT THE CLASS – The Wicker Park Garden Club’s Art Series called The Garden As Inspiration Series was launched in the Summer of 2020 by the Wicker Park Garden Club and Maria Mariottini working in Partnership with the The Wicker Park Advisory Council, The Chicago Park District and The Robey Chicago. The Classes serve as an educational opportunity for people from all over Chicagoland and also helps us fund the 10,000 sq. ft. of gardens in Wicker Park that the Wicker Park Garden Club design, funds, and maintains in Wicker Park located at 1425 N. Damen, Chicago, IL 60622.

CLASS FORMAT – 90 Minute Class – What will You Do?
In each class the teacher introduces the topic of the day with an explanation of the techniques that we will focus on that day. Then each student performs and exercise using those techniques. Following that exercise, the students create an artwork based on the techniques studied that day. At the end of the class, the students display their work for a group viewing and discussion of all the works created in the class that day. This is a great forum for learning by viewing other people’s work and to be able to learn to verbalize your ideas about your work and work created by others in the class.
Here are some Photo Albums that Show What Happens in the Classes – Learn Techniques, Show Your Work to Others, and Meet New Friends.
