ABOUT THE CREATE MUSIC SERIES

The Wicker Park Advisory Council & Garden Club have presented The Sunday Music Series in Wicker Park since 2006.  Popular and loved by all ages of concert goers, The 1099 String Quartet will return to Wicker Park again the Summer of 2023. A few members of the 1099 String Quartet performed in the inaugural 2006 string quartet performance.   At that time, Sarah March (2002-2015) was the Artistic Director of the ensemble; it was called Symphony Sounds String Quartet at that time. Ryan Loeckel (2015-Present) has been the Artistic Director for several years.  Ryan brings together professional musicians from all over Chicagoland. Through his leadership, the group has always presented inspiring and well-rehearsed performances.  Most of the performances since 2006 were funded in part by WPBSSA#33. The concerts were presented in partnership with the Chicago Park District.
